A Taste of Deeside

For those who enjoy "a good walk spoiled", Deeside offers a surprising number of golf courses for a comparatively small region. Not all of the courses are 18 holes, but each has its own unique style and design. Indeed, Braemar Golf Course is the highest golf course in the UK, and all of the courses are surrounded by some of the most stunning countryside you will see in Scotland.

Fishing enthusiasts will want to tackle the beautiful rivers Dee and Spey which sweep through Deeside and provide some of the best salmon fishing.

Walking in Deeside can be both a pleasure and a challenge, depending upon what you are looking for! There are some challenging Munros, and a range of "easy" and "hard" walks to choose from. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, then you will find yourself blessed with three of the five Scottish Ski Centres all within Deeside; Glenshee, the Lecht and Cairngorm. All are among the most popular destinations for skiing enthusiasts across the country.
